Mr. Advani, Who Killed Hemant karkare? Any answers?

Published by My India Today at 11:27 am under Media, Politics, Terrorism Edit This

“Somebody who knew both the ends sent him (Karkare) in the wrong direction otherwise why should he have gone to Cama hospital? He should have gone to Taj, Oberoi or Nariman House. He went to such a place where there was nothing compared to what was happening in these three places. He went to the Cama hospital on the basis of a phone call. Who is that person who made the phone call? This should be probed.”

India’s Minority affairs minister A R Antulay on Wednesday contested investigators’ findings that Maharashtra ATS chief Hemant Karkare was killed by Pakistani terrorist Ismail Khan, an accomplice of arrested jihadi Ajmal Kasab during recent Mumbai terror attacks.

Congress, through Antulay successfully managed to put this theory in the minds of people during day long live televised debate of parliament’s winter session on Lok Sabha channel. As suspected, thief (refers to Sangh Parivar, the real killers of Karkare) started shouting in the parliament unaware of the fact that this reaction of theirs is enough evidence in the eyes of Indian masses that Hemant karkare was indeed killed by Saffron Brigade.

“There is more than what meet the eyes… Karkare was investigating some cases in which non-Muslims were involved,” he said. The minister then went on to explain why he is not in agreement with the view that Karkare was killed by terrorists. “Superficially speaking, terrorists had no reason to kill Karkare. Whether Karkare was victim of terrorism or terrorism plus something. I do not know,” he said.

Mr Antulay, who described Karkare as a bold officer having great acumen and vision, asked why the ATS chief went to the Cama Hospital. “How come he went to such a place instead of going to Hotel Taj or Oberoi or even Nariman House. Why all the three (Karkare, Vijay Salaskar and Ashok Kamte) went together. It is beyond my comprehension,” the minister said.

Ram Vilas Paswan was more indulgent towards the minister. Mr Paswan, who refused to disapprove the remarks, said, “Antulay must be having more information since he hails from Maharashtra.”

On his part, Mr Antulay was in no mood to bring his views on the Mumbai investigations in sync with the findings of the investigators or that of the government. “I will repeat what I said in the Cabinet,” Mr Antulay told reporters.

Only on wednsday, grateful Malegaon town decided to name a main road in memory of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare. Karkare directed the investigations into the case, which culminated in the arrests of 11 people, including Sadhvi Pragnya Singh Thakur and a serving army officer, Lt Col Prasad S Purohit, allegedly belonging to Hindu extremist groups.

Famous as the face of anti-terrorism force in Maharashtra, Karkare along with two other officers; Vijay Salaskar & Ashok Kamte laid down his life outside the Cama & Albless Hospital early November 27 morning during the Mumbai terror attacks.

What gives you the notion that the death of Hemant Karkare was a handiwork of some HIndu fanatics as in your words for some other issues being investigated by Karkare.

But my friend you don’t seem to have read in news about the confession made by Ajmal that the three policemen were in a car and were killed like anyone else. The terrorists would shoot at any police vehicle approaching them and not ask for the names of the people inside. And that precisely was the case here.
